Bow Knot Headband

The Essential First Knitting Project for Beginners

Each and every person I’ve taught to knit over the last 10 years has started with this Bow Knot Headband. It’s a simple pattern that allows you to practice your knit stitches and other foundational skills.

A forgiving texture helps cover small mistakes or tension changes as you knit your way through simple garter stitch rows.

The tools are inexpensive and use larger knitting needles with chunky yarn to ensure that your project works up quickly.

Seam together the edges and pull the yarn tight to cinch

Wrap the tail around the cinched section of your headband and tie off a knot once complete.
