Double Cable Scarf
Classic Cables
Chunky knit scarves are a staple in the knitwear world. They’ve been popular for countless years and came back into the mainstream in 2023 with the resurrection of popularity of the Rory Gilmore cable knit sweater. As a Gilmore Girls fan, and of course a knitting enthusiast, this was a dream come true!
My very first cable scarf pattern was created in 2018 and with it I learned how to teach cables to those who had never tried them before. Expanding the beginner friendly cable knitting patterns is an exciting and necessary next step!
Double Sided Design
The Double Cable Scarf features a double sided cable.
Traditionally when knitting cables, one side will look like the beautiful end goal, and the other side will look not so polished. By incorporating a ribbed texture into the cable, both sides of the scarf look the same!
Being able to wrap yourself in a beautiful scarf and not worry about which direction is facing out was imperative to me. Bonus: when looking at it you can’t even tell that the cable is ribbed!
“I’d never read and followed a knitting pattern so I didn’t really know what to expect, but as I just started reading it from the beginning, it made total sense and was quite understandable (even for a newbie)”
